HOW SOLAR WORKS

Sunlight is changed directly into electricity using solar cells.

Light hits the solar panel with photons (particles of sunlight). The solar panel converts those photons into electrons of direct current (“DC”) electricity. The electrons flow out of the solar panel and into an inverter. The inverter converts that “DC” power into alternating current or “AC” power. AC power is the kind of electricity that runs your household appliances.Solar panels absorb the Sun’s energy which generates electricity. The inverter converts the Sun’s FREE DC current into usable AC energy for your home. The utility meter monitors the amount of power you have produced or used.

The more solar panels that are combined, the greater the electrical power you can generate for your home.

Our Solar Installations

Once a customer decides to purchase a solar system, a crew is assigned to the project. Fidelity Home Energy takes care of all aspects of the project, including drawing the plans, completing all the required paperwork and obtaining the necessary permits.

Inspection

The installed system will need to be inspected by the city or county building department, and in some areas the utility company, to ensure the project meets their safety standards. Fidelity Home Energy takes care of all aspects of scheduling and completing these inspections.

Application for Permission to Operate

After inspection passes, Fidelity Home Energy completes and submits the application for Permission to Operate to the utility company’s solar division.

Permission to Operate

Once the utility grants Permission to Operate (PTO) the homeowner can start enjoying the energy savings from their solar.
